The Y-Files: La Fermiere

I've mentioned before the deliciousness of La Fermiere.  Over the past few months I've tried some more flavors and turns out they are all amazing. 

The Y-Files: Yaourts Fermiers

 

Brand: Yaourts Fermiers aux Fruits

Flavors: fraise, pêche, framboise, cerise, myrtille (strawberry, peach, raspberry, cherry, blueberry)

The missing one was 3 fruits - framboise, mûre and myrtille (raspberry, blackberry and blueberry)

I was really excited to try these because I knew I would like all the flavors.  However, they weren't the greatest.  They were good, and I even tried two before I considered giving them to Jim.  I think the problem was they were a little thin and sweet.  Not exactly how I like my yogurt.  
In the end I decided to freeze them, and have frozen yogurt.  This was genius!  In frozen form they were so much better.

The Y-Files: Paturages

Brand: Paturages Frutimax 
Flavor: Fraise (Strawberry)

While this does not even touch my all-time favorite yogurt, it was tasty and enjoyable.  Probably something you could eat everyday.  It wasn't too liquidy and had a nice strawberry flavor.  I believe these were purchased in France and they come in packs of 4 or 6.

Brand: La Fermiere Duo

Flavor: Abricot Mango

So far this is my favorite yogurt of all time.  The texture is creamy and smooth. There are small pieces of fruit and its not too sweet.  The consistency is a little thicker (which I prefer).  I have no idea what the nutritional info is, but I'm sure there is nothing fat free about it.  The best part about this yogurt is it comes in a ceramic pot which is totally reusable.  I've used the empty jars for storing extra jam or honey when we are having cheese.  The price is not bad either, under 3 euros for a pack of two.  The only downside is Swiss stores don't carry them.  I have only be able to find them in France!

The Y-Files: Chäs-Hütte

Brand: Chäs-Hütte (Made in Switzerland!)
Flavor: Erdbeer (Strawberry)

This was delicious. Creamy, not too sweet. Good texture and fresh strawberry flavor. No nutritional information provided, which probably means full fat. And fat = taste.
I would definitely buy this again, but as I recall it is about 3 francs for one. So I don't think I'll be buying it often.

The Y-Files: Nestle Lo - Summer

Yogurt. It's delicious, some what nutritious, and way more exciting here than in the US. Think of the largest grocery store you've ever been in. Now think of the yogurt section. Now multiply that by 4 and that's about how much yogurt you'll find here in EVERY grocery store. They also have the most bizarre flavors here, some in a good way, others in a not good way. I decide to have a reoccurring post called The Y-Files, just so I can introduce you to the awesomeness that is yogurt in Europe.

Brand: Nestle LO
Flavor: Summer (Melon Strawberry)

Based on the picture I assumed melon meant cantaloupe. So cantaloup strawberry flavored yogurt. Ok sign me up. The LO means that there is no fat or low fat. Actually I didn't really pay attention to this part when I was purchasing. Review: Horrible. Disgusting. Never again buying LO, ever. I tried to pawn this off on Jim and even he wouldn't eat it.

It was really that white inside, and had no taste of strawberry or cantaloupe. It tasted closer to peach but the texture was so runny I ate half and tossed it. A huge fail for European yogurt if I do say so. The End.
