Sunday Funday

One of the biggest differences between Switzerland and the US is the fact that 24 hours/7 days a week does not exist here. Business closes around 6:30 daily and nothing is opened on Sundays. Well, church is open, McDonald's, a few cafes and restaurants but shopping and grocery stores are closed.

The first Sunday I was here I wanted to go out and do something, but other than walking around seeing things outside there wasn't much else to do. So we went out. Jim suggested we go to the UN because when I visited in February, it looked like a cool place to stop and take pictures, but at that time he wasn't interested. Then when the bus came it was going in the direction of Jardin Botanique, so we decided to go there too. It was pretty fantastic and the weather was great that day too. The Botanical Gardens have greenhouses, trails, a open space for play and relaxing, a shop and cafe...all open on Sunday. A gold mine!
